Tired of hearing “I can’t afford it?”

Do you keep attracting potential clients that “can’t afford to work with you?”

You’re trying to “charge what you’re worth” but you keep hearing “not right now” or “it’s a little more than I thought” time and time again.

I know how frustrating this can be when you’ve put so much work into your offer and it just seems to fall flat.

The good news is, there’s a few simple tweaks you can make to stop attracting those clients that “can’t afford to work with you” and start attracting your dream clients that see the value in what you have to offer and are a big fat “YES”!

And I want to share these 3 simple tweaks with you…

1. Make sure you’re talking to the right people.

A lot of heart centred coaches get into business because they have a mission to help and serve people. The problem is they set themselves up to fail but focussing on the people that need what they have but can’t afford to pay them.

They’re trying to serve their passion people.

These are the people you’d love to help, but they can only afford to buy your $27 product, not your $5k coaching program.

Think about it. How many people can you help when you can barely make rent each month because you’re trying to get by selling $27 courses?

It’s honourable that you want to serve the people that really need what you have to offer.

But in the beginning of your business you need to set yourself up to create a sustainable business first.

One that takes care of your basic needs first, so that you have the resources to go and serve your passion people through your lower end products and free content.

You need to start by finding the people that can afford to work with you and have the resources available to invest. The clients that are a “hell yes, how can I sign up!?!”

2. Know how to communicate the value you of your products/services

So how do you find these people?

First of all, you need to make sure your messaging speaks directly to the people that can afford to work with you and their specific pain points.

Get inside their head, interview them, know them intimately so you can communicate directly to them how your product or service can add value to them..

Knowing how to communicate the value of your offer is fundamental to creating the success you want in your business.

No one cares how many modules, workbooks or hours of coaching you sell. Your clients aren’t buying any of those things, they’re buying the end result.

So to understand what the value is you offer you need to get really clear on what the end result is that’s possible for your clients as a result of working with you.

If you help your clients to build a successful business, how will that impact their life?

They’ll be able to help people through their work, make more money, have the time & lifestyle freedom to live the live they’ve only dreamt of up until now … what is that worth to them?

When you know the real value you offer you can confidently sell your packages without questioning your prices because you’ll be able to communicate the real benefit that it has for your client.

3. Silence the inner critic.

This final step is the crux of the work I do with my clients and is the most destructive element that stops entrepreneurs from attracting their dream clients that can afford to work with them.

Your clients are a reflection of your internal dialogue. They’re mirroring what’s going on inside of you.

If you keep attracting clients that say you’re too expensive or don’t see the value in what you have to offer, then this is the first thing you need to clear at an inner level.

No amount of action and strategy can overcome the inner voice that tells us you’re not worth that much, that questions who am I to do this?

It will keep you playing small at all costs to avoid the ultimate fear of rejection.

I want to share with you a process to pinpoint exactly what your inner voice is saying that’s keeping you stuck in this pattern of always striving and never arriving.

It’s THE most important work you can do BEFORE you take another action or implement one more strategy.

I can guarantee you if you haven’t done the work this will keep you stuck for months or years, playing out the same sabotage patterns.

So here it is…

Close your eyes and imagine you’re standing on a stage in front of all your family, friends & past and potential clients.

Announce to the audience how much you charge (you may even want to try this with the amount you’d like to be able to charge).

Notice their reactions, notice what they’re saying?

Now tell the audience that you deserve it.

And again notice how they respond to you, are they angry, are they laughing at you, are they yelling at you?

Open your eyes and write down everything that came up.

This is your inner critic that you’ve projected onto your audience.

These are the beliefs you’ve picked up over your lifetime as to what people like us earn, how hard you have to work for your money and whether it’s ok to “toot your own horn” or if you need to stay invisible.

You may be thinking it’s no wonder that you’re not attracting your dream clients with all of this going on inside of you…

And you’re right. It’s literally stonewalling you earning more money.

Hard work doesn't always guarantee success

Do you believe that hard work equals success?

If that were the truth most of the world’s population would be wealthy, but in reality they’re not.

In fact, the hardest working people often have the littlest to show for it.

We live in a world where anxiety, depression, heart attacks and disease is commonplace. Why is that?

Because despite what evidence shows people believe they need to work harder if they want to get ahead and this is also true for a lot of aspiring entrepreneurs.

And I see SO many entrepreneurs are working themselves into the ground trying to get their business off the ground.

They’re trying to master every little piece of their business until they’re burnt out and exhausted.

Or even if they’re already earning 5k months and beyond, they still can’t shake the belief that they need to continue to work just as hard if not harder if they want to continue being successful and scale their business.

I’m going to show you that actually the opposite is true.

If you want to create real work/lifestyle freedom there’s ONE THING you need to focus on in your business right now to begin to get the results you want without all the hustle. So you can finally:

·      Create a schedule around your life not your life around your business.

·      Focus on what lights you up that is the difference only you can make.

·      Create true financial freedom.

It’s so simple that you can start doing it right away…

The 80/20 rule

In Tim Ferris’s 4 hour work week he talks about the 80/20 rule, based on Pareto’s principle that 20% of your hard work will bring you 80% of your results.

20% of your clients will bring you 80% of your sales.

And 20% of your programs will bring in 80% of your revenue.

So what do the world’s most successful people do?

They focus on that 20% that brings them the greatest results and outsource or eliminate the other time consuming, energy draining tasks.

And to really master that 20% they get the best mentors, the best team of support to help them to master those core things that are in their zone of genius.

These are the things that light them up, that will make the crucial difference that only they can make in their business.

Your action steps

So start now by taking inventory of everything you do in your life, your home & business that drains your time & energy and start by picking one thing that does not require you specifically to do it and outsource it or get rid of it completely so you can hone in and focus on that 20%.

Do it often

The more often you do this the more successful your business will become and the more freedom & fulfilment you’ll experience in both your life and business because you’re doing the things that light you up and bring you joy, that make the difference in the world that only you can make!

Waiting on more clients before you invest in your business?

Are you waiting to get more clients and sales before you invest in yourself and your business?

I get it…

You don’t want to drop thousands of dollars on a course or coach because when your business isn’t brining in enough income to justify splashing out on the support that you need.

And you don’t want to add to the pressure of trying to build your business by adding the financial strain of investing in a coach or course… especially if you already have with little results…

So is it really necessary?

The answer is yes and no.

If you persist… you will eventually figure it out.

There are enough resources out there online to help you to create a successful business if you take on the task of being a full-time researcher and implementer…

The only difference is, if you invest in a coach or a course that shows you how you get from A to B it might take you a couple of months or a year as opposed to 3 or 5 if you’re still hanging in there.

The real question is, how much time do you want to spend getting there?

Money buys you time.

Are you willing to wait as long as it takes to figure it out on your own? Or do you want to follow a proven method that saves you time and money in avoiding the mistakes that someone else has already made and can help you to navigate around…

Investing hundreds or thousands of dollars in your business when it’s never earnt a dollar isn’t a comfortable decision, but what you want is never in your comfort zone.

And one thing I’ve learnt, when you make a big investment in yourself, you’re show up 100% and that’s half the battle won!

Often times when you’re wary of investing in support you haven’t taken the time to get really clear on what it is that you need to help you to get from A to B and you don’t want to just throw some cash around in the hopes that it will be the magic bullet for your business. You’re smarter than that.

So here’s a simple 3 step process that I use to make sure that I get the biggest return on investment when investing in a coach or program:

  1. Take some time to write down exactly what you need to learn to get from A to B.

Whether you’re getting in your own way and you need support in the form of mindset work, growing your email list, getting visible online or mastering Facebook ads, write it down.

  2. Write down what level of support you need or are prepared to pay for.

Do you want group support, 1:1 support or do you prefer a course you can work through at your own pace?

  3. Be open to opportunities that are a match for what you need to take your business from A to B.

And check in with yourself if this is the right next step for you. If you get that internal hell yes then take inspired action!

The key to magnetising more clients in your business

The problem a lot of entrepreneurs face when they’re starting & growing their business is how to get more clients.

And it can be really easy when you’re trying to gain momentum in your business to get caught up in survival mode of trying to:

  • Leave your full-time job or avoid going back to one.

  • Pay the bills each month to keep your business afloat.

  • And grow your business to a point where you no longer have to worry when your next pay check is coming.

It become so focussed on how much money you’re brining in…

And you can lose sight of why you started your business in the first place.

But there’s a simple shift you can make in your mindset to magnetise more clients in your business.

1.     Create a mission related goal.

Unless you’re someone that’s only in it for the money, you started your business as your mission to make a difference in some way. And when you focus on your goal to get your first client or make your first $10k or $20k you can lose sight of that.

In Sanaya Roman & Duane Packer’s book… “Creating Money” they say “do not focus on what people will give you or what you want from them for you are not very magnetic when you do.”

Instead, you become magnetic by focussing on serving or assisting people.

So the first step is to create a goal around your mission.

What’s the difference you want to have made in the next 12 months?

How many people do you want to serve & share your message with and how will this affect their lives?

When you create a mission goal you become magnetic to attracting the clients to you that you can best serve.

Post your mission goal in a place you’ll see often throughout the day, put it on a post it note on your computer and connect to it each morning before you start your day.

Now for the next step…

2.     Write down what ways you enjoy getting your message out there.

If you hate sitting down the write a long blog post then that’s the last thing you should be doing.

Do you enjoy doing videos, facebook lives or being of service on social media?

Whatever it is, that’s what you need to focus your time doing.

Because it lights you up and that’s what makes you magnetic to your ideal clients that resonate with your message and want to work with you.

And the final step is to…

3.     Ask yourself “how can I REALLY help the people I want to serve?”

Are you being of service on social media and writing that weekly email to tick that box or are you really aligned with the intention of helping your clients to create a transformation?

When you really come from the place of genuinely wanting to serve rather than focussing on what you’re going to get out of it, you’re going to start drawing people in to work with you without even trying.

And it won’t feel like a struggle because you’re not attached to the sale, instead you’re completely aligned with your mission goal.

And that’s what it’s all about!
